We
deserved a few holidays and we went to the north side of Tenerife, one of the
Canary Islands. Next to our hotel, here was Pastelería Diaz (Diaz Bakery), where, breakfast after breakfast, attracted
out attention. Indeed, besides bakery, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, this
establishment, which has five other selling and degustation branches in the
island, offers you also wine and typical products from the Canary Islands.
Among them, the unavoidable (spicy and green) "mojo" (kind of sauce), the gofio cream and small
meringues. The gofio is a kind
of flour made of toasted corn, that gives a peculiar and unique taste to the
desserts.
Lo que también nos llamó la
atención es la relación cantidad-precio de los postres: mucha cantidad muy
barata, a diferencia de lo que encontramos en Barcelona.
What also
caught our attention was the quantity-price relationship of the desserts: great
and cheap quantity, contrary to what we find in Barcelona.
Pastelería Diaz tiene una extensa gama de productos muy variados.
Si viajáis a Tenerife, no dejéis de daros una vuelta por allí para probar sus
tartas, sus vasos de texturas, sus postres alemanes y los productos canarios típicos
mencionados anteriormente que venden allí.
Pastelería Diaz has a wide and varied range of products. If you
travel to Tenerife, don't stop going there to taste their cakes, their glasses
of textures, their German desserts and the previously mentioned typical
products from the Canary Islands that they sell there.
Moreover,
besides the sweet things, we will talk you about the salted part as Pastelería
Diaz is also in charge of the Restaurant
La Casa del Vino (the Wine House), located in the same complex as the Honey Museum and the Wine Museum. There, we had the
opportunity to taste various very recommendable typical dishes, and to enjoy an
excellent environment and incredible views to the Teide.
